Sam Ovens: Consulting Guru or Scam Artist?
Sam Ovens: Consulting Guru or Scam Artist?
This review is an unbiased review on Sam Ovens Consulting Accelerator training program. I have not bought this course and tried it for myself. This review is purely my opinion based on the research I have conducted and through word of mouth.
Now that that’s out of the way, let’s continue. Sam Ovens. Many of you have heard his name at least once, whether it be on social media, YouTube videos, or articles. Sam Ovens is known as the founder of the website “Consulting.com” and the creator of SnapInspect. He was on the 2017 Forbes list of 30 under 30 and he currently has a net worth of $65 million dollars.
What did Sam Ovens do to become Rich?
Sam Ovens came from a working class family from New Zealand. He had a job at Vodafone working in corporate. He soon realized, he wanted to pursue the entrepreneur route. He quit his corporate job and started working in his parent’s garage. He created three different businesses. The first business he created was called PromoteYourself. This was a job search network primarily based in his hometown of New Zealand. This business failed in 12 months and he lost $15,000.
He tried to reach success in his second business called ToTheDesk. This was essentially a food delivery service from local restaurants to office workers so they don’t have to be eating cheap and unhealthy fast food. This gives them the opportunity to order their food and get it directly delivered to their work without them having to spend their lunch time waiting in line for the food or waiting for it to be made. This business also failed in 12 months and he lost $10,000.
Before he started his third attempt at a new business, he took the time to learn and go over what went wrong with his previous businesses. Some changes he implemented was focusing on a core target market. In his previous businesses Sam Ovens was not focusing on his target customer, but rather looking at New Zealand as a whole. In addition, he made sure there was a demand for the product his third business was providing by pre-selling the services. When this demand was shown, he built the app and started making revenue and built a solid customer base. Knowing this, he created his third business using an effective way of targeting the specific market.
His third business was SnapInspect. SnapInspect is a property inspection app specifically for property management businesses. This third business was a success and reached high profits. He then started doing digital marketing consultancy on the side. Eventually, he sold SnapInspect and focused primarily on his digital marketing consultancy. He soon realized, there were many individuals that were interested in learning how to run their own consultancy business. This then lead to Sam Ovens creating his Consulting Accelerator training program.

What is my personal opinion on this course?
Overall, my personal opinion on this course is in between. There are both pros and cons in this course. Below, I have added the pros and cons I have observed that this Consulting Accelerator program has shown.
– 14-day 100% Satisfaction Money back Guarantee
– Program includes Weekly Q&A calls
– Lifetime access to the course
– Attaining first high value client in 42 days (seems sketch, is this guaranteed?)
– Starting a 6-figure consulting business (how do you know this can work for everyone if every person has different experiences and skills)
Sam Ovens has marketed his Consulting Accelerator training program pretty well through his website “consulting.com” and through his YouTube channel. There are various videos that show him being on a live call with different customers and answering any questions they may have to help them reach success. Like I mentioned before, I have not tried the training program myself, but I am merely sharing with you all the research I have conducted. His program focuses on teaching individuals how to start-up and run their own consulting business, so if you don’t have an interest in consulting then this program is not for you. If you despise working in sales, this program is not for you either. Sam Ovens ensures that this program will propel you into being successful and allow you to quit your 9-5 job. There are over 3000 testimonies on his website from student that have taken the course and their positive experiences from it.
From the research I conducted and what I have heard from word of mouth about the Consulting Accelerator training program, I will score this a C+. I would say he is not a scam artist however, from what I have heard it does not teach any skills and the course was frustrating to take. The concept of attaining your first high value client for your own consulting business within 42 days seems sketch. Feel free to leave a comment down below with your opinions on this course.
